Core Web Vitals explained: what are LCP, INP and CLS for your online store?
Core Web Vitals are the performance metrics Google uses to assess your website's user experience. They have a direct impact on your search engine rankings.
LCP – Largest Contentful Paint
This measures how quickly the largest visible element on your page loads. For online stores, this is often the hero image or a large product photo. Aim for an LCP of less than 2.5 seconds.
INP – Interaction to Next Paint
INP measures how quickly your site responds to user interactions such as clicks, taps and keystrokes. A good INP is less than 200 milliseconds.
CLS – Cumulative Layout Shift
CLS measures how stable your page layout is during loading. Shifting elements are frustrating for users. Aim for a CLS score of less than 0.1.
Why this matters for your online store
Google uses these metrics as a ranking factor. A slow, unstable online store not only loses visitors, but also drops in search results. ScanLytics automatically measures all of these values and provides concrete improvement suggestions.
